Cup Semi Final Heartbreak!

Purley Jubilee Red U12s suffered heartbreak as they were knocked out of the BYDL Cup at the semi-final stage by Woodley Saints Lions. Last seasons Consolation Plate Finalists Purley dominated the early exchanges forcing several corners, but it was Woodley who opened the scoring with a break away goal mid way through the first half. Purley were then awarded a penalty when Jack Bryant was felled in the box and captain Callum Stratford stepped up to level the scores on the stroke of half time.

Woodley started the stronger in the second half and a looping shot saw them take a 2 v 1 lead. Purley fought back and pressurised the Woodley goal but were unable to break through. In the dying seconds as Purley threw everything forward Woodley broke away to score a third and secure their place in the Final.
