U9’s Match Report v Barton Rovers 19/9/2009

Well 2 games and 2 games undefeated!

 I know Nigel agrees with me – that was by far the best we have played as a team so far. Everybody played their part and it will be hard picking the starting 7 and formation for next week.

At times we were controlling the game today and bearing in mind Barton are a good team and had won 8-1 the week before I thought a draw was the least we deserved, the game could have gone either way at the end but we had to dig deep and showed great character on quite a hot day. Callum well deserved the effort award but there were others who pushed him close.

So finally re Wednesday, I’m hoping we can give out the new kits Wednesday to all the squad. I also have some other bits to give out. I will aim to get the squad picture taken the following week with Robin our sponsor; else the boys will be changing over the park. We are going to take training a lot easier this week to give the boys a bit of break from all the instruction type stuff that we have been doing. I know Nige and Si are looking at running some fun sessions so we can chill out a bit!
