Under 10s Red, catch up on the news
Posted in U10s Red News ... November 16th, 2009
Our first season in division 1 has so far produced a mixed bag of results, though after 7 games we have only lost 2 matches. Our first game after a shaky start when we went 1-0 down against South Reading produced a great fight back and we were 3-2 up with about a minute left on the clock, only to concede a last gasp equaliser. We were well beaten by Woodley Saints in our second match as we didnt compete like we can, but in general play we are doing well and going forward we look like we can score against anyone. We did have one bad game against Wokingham and Embrook as we were leading 4-2 with two minutes left on the clock only to concede two late goals and end up drawing 4-4. So although we are doing well we have dropped some silly points, which could be crucial come the end of the season. However on November 7th we gained our first victory against last season rivals Maidenhead Pythons winning by 3 goals to 2. We thought it was going to be another one of those days as we squandered a host of one on one chances with the keeper, and then conceded the opening goal, but the boys showed great character to come back to clinch the victory. Hopefully the first of many. We have now added Liam Ruiz to our squad and he is going to add abit more quality and help us push on up the table.
