We have acheived FA Charter Status !!

Fantastic news for the club is that we have now achieved FA Charter status in just one submission. This has largely been achieved through the excellent work of the Club Welfare Officer Ian Cadle and Club Secretary Emma Wareham. Well done and thank you both.

The managers have also done their bit in submitting all the necessary paperwork. The managers have all had CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks made to ensure that they are fit to work with children and submitted their FA Level 1 certificates .

FA Charter status is an accreditation that shows that the club follows the FA guidlines relating to codes of conduct, equal opportunites, child protection and that we have the necessary resources to enable all those at the club to enjoy the game safely.

The FA website says:

‘The FA Charter Standard kitemark – ensuring a safe, positive environment in which to play football. All Charter Standard Clubs will have FA-qualified coaches and medics, and in addition volunteers at youth clubs who work directly with children must have an accepted FA enhanced CRB check and attended the FA Safeguarding Children Workshop. ‘

Purley Jubilee tournament – Applications are coming in but places are still available in most age groups!

We are still accepting applications to enter the Purley Jubilee tournament.

Managers please ensure you publicise this to other local clubs. Call around to confirm the interest you’ve had is converted into applications asap.

If you are from another club and interested then please look at the tournament page which has an entry form embedded.

Purley Jubilee Race Night is back, by popular demand.

The Purley Jubilee Race Night is our premier fundraising event and a fantastic evening for all the family.

As a fund-raiser for the club it helps to keep the subscriptions down, something we can all appreciate, and a every year we have excellent feedback on how well the evening is run and how parents and kids alike enjoy it.

Big Al has been secured to run the Race night and by all accounts he is fantastic.

The kids are welcome and its a fun evening for all. So come along and support your club and managers as well

We have a new Chairman this season

Andy Perryman decided to step down as Chair for this season, whilst continuing to do a great job of managing the U12s Red. Carl Swaine(U12s manager) has taken on the position. Our good wishes to him and we look forward to continuing success.

U7 and U8s at Madejski Stadium on 26 September for Penalty shoot out!

Look out for the Purley U7s and U8s at the Reading V Watford Game 26/9/2009 at Madejski stadium as they will doing the half-time penalty shoot out. Cheer them on if you are there !!
